http://www.zennie62.com - This video will be misunderstood by some just for its title. I ask you to listen to what I say. I'm am against California Proposition 8. I've made videos to show the World how stupid and hateful the people who back the initiative can be. But what does bother me is the discovery that of all groups, African Americans voted more for it than against it.

Why?

I think one reason is that the message those who were against Prop 8 put out was off-putting to many who are Black. While I agree that gay marriage is a civil rights issue, one can't then make the cognitive leap and say that Blacks and Gays share the same path and past. The reason is simple: if I walk down the street you already have made up your mind how you're going to adress me because of my skin color.

That's not true if the person's Gay -- you can't tell by looking.

The bottom line is civil rights for all -- but the message that's sent by "No on 8" seems to say that if a person's straight White and male, they're normal.

No one Black wants to hear that.

  • @tatomuck18, then stop being a nasty, shit-eating, gerbil-stuffing moron, and you won't have a problem.

Voila! Your defects are easily done away with. Now if we could only get your head out of Satan's ass, LOL.

  • @JMWilkes I meant ARE, not OR in the last sentence. lol

  • @fdsaks I always hear the bedroom argument. If I mention my partner, like you mention your wife, there's no talk of "bedroom", but there is still hate. Take it from someone who has been as close to "gay married" as one can get. Not a lot of sex in the bedroom. A lot of talking about bills, disagreements about AC blasting and having to freeze during the summer, some laughs, a lot of "I'm too tired"s...

  • @drewnod There are most definitely a LOT of places in this country were one will get beat up based on race..black, white, and varying shades of brown. When we turn this into gay against black, we alienate part of our own LGBT community. It is at that point that WE become the bigots.

  • @tatomuck18 I guess you're right about the nasty, gerbils, and feces thing. Sadly there are gay and straight people who do that... but being gay, isn't a choice.

  • @JMWilkes Well spoken my friend.

  • @Clemburke1111 This is sad for black gays, like myself. I identify as gay FIRST, then black. Other gays and I share a fight that people in my own family can't seem to understand. Sadly... I know a lot of gays and a lot of blacks who are extremely bigoted and closed-minded. Being part of one of these groups doesn't exclude any of us from perpetuating hate. I just hope that the gay community realizes that there are many ethnic and religious folks in OUR community. I hope WE can be tolerant

  • Most people don't know if I'm gay when they see me, but they do know I'm black. On the other hand, what about the guys that give off the gay vibe from a mile away? By this logic, it's better to hide who we are, and the only gays who stand a chance or the ones who can "pass" this modern day version of "the paper bag test".

  • being black isnt a choice. being nasty, playing with shit and putting gerbils up your ass IS a choice.

  • You're right it's changing with your comments, I used to think the Black people I saw everyday were regular people able to get regular jobs by regular means but you just seem so pathetically insistent they be shoved into every movie it makes people think maybe they need a crutch. Legend with Will Smith was an awesome movie, white people don't complain about it because it never crosses their mind. They just see a hero instead of some loser whining and clinging to the race card.
