THERE AREN'T ALWAYS BLINDSPOTS! If you adjust your mirror properly there is no blind spot. This frustrates the hell out of me. If you can see the side of your car in your mirror you will have a blind spot. Move it out further and wow! What a surprise! You can see what's NEXT to you!

I believe the system scans your eye to see if you're actually looking in the rear view mirror - in order to prevent "false alarms" all the time. At least, that was the idea, as I recall. Bet the system can also tell if you're a replicant! LOL!

Every time a car passes on your right, the warning reacts. What does one do about this to make the warnings useful?ings

What about passing in narrow city streets where there are always cars parked on sides?

A parked car does not make the sensor triger.

The Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) is particularly reassuring in congested and fast-moving traffic situations. Using rear-facing digital cameras installed in the door mirrors, it monitors the traffic on either side of the car. As a vehicle enters your blind spot, the system helps alert you with a discrete lamp built into the front door post on the approaching side of the car.
