My sales taxes went up more than my property taxes went done. Guess that means Sali raised my taxes which he most surely did.

More correctly, this is a tax SHIFT that discriminates against lower incomes. If you're not a property owner, then you just got stuck with a 20% sales tax increase with no compensating tax reduction. In absolute terms, one might label this as a tax cut BUT that only mixes apples and oranges in a very self serving manner. The property tax cut itself was very skewed to corporate interests. Who's fooling who? Grant's ad is factually accurate AND highly effective.

Idahodel,you're not being honest. The assessments haven't come out, so you have no clue how much your taxes went down. For most rate papyers, it should be a slight cut and hopefully the legislature will do more to fix the sales tax next session.

So, tell me, why were Larry Grant and the Democrats advocating Proposition 1 which would have raised the sales tax without any property tax relief. They're all for increasing sales taxes, theyr'e just concerned about the emoney going back to property owners.
