Why should anyone be "grossed out"? That's ridiculous. If you were discovering your country 200 years ago the people who find a very simple procedure "gross" wouldn't have lasted five minutes! "Ooh no, I can't possibly cross the Mississippi - I've broken a fingernail!"
Thanks for a useful video - I've got to do this on myself soon. I fell over on some ice a few years ago and banged my knee really hard - it was miracle I didn't break it, and now I get this every couple of years.

I was surprised about how much fluid came out of it. :O

Glad you didn't need the surgery. A friend of mine had that surgery done and had nothing but regrets. When the same thing happened with his other knee he did exactly what you did. Once the inflammation subsided the area stopped producing fluid, same as what appears to have happened with your case.

@DiamantaireMarie Cool - nice to hear good stories. It's 3 years later since it healed up on its own, and i have not had any issues. I still answer a lot of questions though ;)

DEAR SIR, AM ABSOLUTELY STUNNED!!!! PL TAKE A CEPHALOSPORIN ANTIBIOTIC SUCH AS CEFOTOXIME OR CEFTAZIDIME A DOSE ONE DAY BEFORE THE SURGERY AND CONTINUE THE ANTIBIOTIC TREATMENT AFTER THE DRAINING. YOU MUST DISINFECT THE AREA BEFORE PUNCTURING THE SKIN., OR ELSE IT MAY CAUSE SEVERE INFECTION OF JOINT AND THAT LEADS TO STILL WORSENED CONDITIONS. SO FOR SO GOOD. ALL TIMES WILL NOT BE THE SAME. BUT AM STUNNED THAT YOU HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT ANY KNOWLEDGE OF LIGAMENTS OR BURSA!!!U R SIMPLY TAKING RISK!

I go through this every two months or so. What was the diagnosis, and how long is the recovery period post surgery?

@357cigg I never had to have the surgery, it healed up on it's own. See the description just under the video. (click Show More)
