Yep, I'm back. I have hardly played at all the last two weeks and it's mostly been practicing the next speed run segment, so that's why there haven't been any videos.

Anyway, this battle probably looks very easy, and it is, but I had some trouble figuring out what to do here. There are two of them and they have some very nasty attacks; Reno's Turk Light is INSTANT DEATH and Rude's Fire deals ~165. Obviously not good. Thankfully, they can both be stopped, but what happens when they "start" again? Unless they both use their physical attacks, you are screwed.

That's when Frog Song, an Enemy Skill I've never used for any purpose, came to mind. Put Reno to sleep and he'll be of no harm when he un-stops. These guys have some very mean Magic Defense, so the only way to deal enough damage without running out of MP is by using Chocobuckle. I already leveled it up a lot for Jenova, so I didn't have to level it up more for this battle.

I didn't have to attack Reno twice in the end, as he will flee automatically on the next turn after Rude is defeated. I don't know why I did, but I just did. No harm done anyway.

  • Glad to hear you're back into the speedrun, can we expect the next segment anytime soon, or have you not gotten it yet?

  • Still practicing. It's the hardest segment, so I need to make sure nothing will go wrong when I start doing real attempts. That small minigame on floor 60 is giving me a lot of trouble :(

  • cool battle, can u tell me how i get the planets protector? cuz i need it 4 the battle against demon door, ofc i dont do this challenge cuz im not the best FFVII player ever u know, but this was a good video and inspired me 2 play even more FFVII 5/5

  • Learning Planet Protector is simple. She must simply kill 160 enemies ;)

  • Took a slight risk that Rude wouldn't use Fire when he came to again, but it was an otherwise foolproof plan. I like it! ^_^

  • Actually, he can use Fire once, but you need some luck with the damage. It doesn't deal ~180, as I orignally said in the description, but between 160 and 170 :P

  • why is the other guy not doing anything i mean the one who isnt sleeping

  • is cloud and barret sleeping?

  • nothing is more painful then a Chubby Chocobo's Butt!

  • Reno is sleeping on the job :P

  • i think its the badest enemy skill ever

  • In order to obtain Chocobuckle

First you must first feed it some Mimett Greens. then cast L4 Suicide on the chocobo: it will respond with Chocobuckle

    (You have It) !!!!BEWARE!!!!

this will only work against chocobos whose level is a multiple of 4. (4, 8,12 Ect.)That's why only chocobos originating from the Grasslands area or Mideel can respond with it (well, only some of them. You can check their level by using Sense on them.
