August Hanneman retired Pastor of the St Peters Lutheran Church in Elgin Tx shares the history of the historic Rose Hill cemetery and community. Rose Hill is north east of Manor on Hwy 973. Rose hill was originally called Nelleville but later renamed to Rose Hill for the abundant roses in the community. Founded in 1890 it's residents dispersed in 1924.
What a gift to the community! Thank you so much for posting this...great job!

It was my honor to record August telling the story of Rose Hill and it was the least I could do to pay my respects to the founders of that community and to help share the history of Manor. I would like to add that photo of your dad to this video, please let me know if you are interested.

I am a descendant of Henry and Dora Nelle and we dedicated the Rose Hill Cemetery last year. The land is 5 acres donated by my great grandfather for a school, church and cemetery. My sister has a picture of our dad, Otis Nelle, riding his horse in front of the school when he was about 7 years old. This is very well done.
