Tunisian newspapers say in august there was peace talks ( between rebels and the gov , under Venezuella chairmanship ) in Jerba , Tunisia and a peace agreement including Kadhafi's departure to a foreign country then elections ! But French foreign minister landed there in a hurry , and the Qataris also ! The representative of UN secretary general , the rebel mandatory , and all participating parties then denied that any peace process was in course !!

And the combats resumed , and the arms came from Qatar by air , across Tunisia ! where elections happened just the day of end of war announcement ! And they took place while lbyans circulate in streets of tunisia bearing their special clothing with logos etc and beards !! Especially in poor neighboorhoods ! Thatinfluenced the election , while ' moderism ' front shows indifference !!!

The flag they use now is much older than the green one. When people protested in various soviet republics for the independence of their republics, they didn't use soviet flags but the old flags of those countries.

They would have had the green ones to show they are Libyans.
