@jayk2k magnet is just a different delivery system for a torrent. It works similarly to a regular torrent but you need a client that can utilize magnet. I recommend using utorrent for magnet links.

There are a couple of reasons that yours may not be working.

1. Firewall

2. Anti-Virus

3. Router

4. ISP

These are the main things to check when this does not work.
