I bought this album like 15+ years ago. I've long ago lost the album.(mostly likely an ex-girlfriend got it in the break-up) But this song always pops into my head from time to time. It hits me on a level I cant understand. I had a chance to see them play in Portland, Maine way back in the day. I always regreted not going. I need to find this album again!
I even made it to the LACROSSE, WISCONSIN SHOW, where we shut that venue DOWN!!! I MEAN THE OWNERS OF THE VENUE PULLED THE PLUG! WE STILL SANG TO UN-AMPLIFIED GUITARS AND ACOUSTIC (IN THE PUREST SENSE OF IT) DRUMS...... HELL OF A TIME. AND THE BEST (AND ONLY) DAY/NIGHT TRIP I HAD WITH MY SISTER BEFORE SHE DIED. Every ONE OF US rocked that joint, but the Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies led they way to one of the best memories of my life....
God almighty, I'd seen these guys so many times. Lived in Norwestern Illinois at the time, but always made it to nashville when they'd play. made it to the Mattoon, Il., show, where I checked in directly after Terry Thomas. My knees buckled under me and I couldn't talk. I'd only played drums for 12 years at the time, so he was like a god to me. I couldn't even introduce myself even though we were all staying in the same hotel (believe it was a super 8 right by the venue).... so much more......
i used to rock this in my car drivin to kentucky to go visit my daughter..unfortunately somebody else liked them too and stole all my cd's. hard to find now..and that freakin' sucks!....gettin a little misty eyed..thanks for the post
i first seem them in 1994 at the Walnut creek amp as a warm up band for the Allman Brothers. I loved them right off the bat and bought everything they ever made.
medic357, it's 3rd and lindsley. they used to play there once a month pretty religiously. mike's still based out of here, but he's doing gospel only these days. been that way for a few years. it's good. still his fantastic voice, but it's different.
