Yes! Pastors should provide financial advice. But as the old saying goes,"If you want to hide anything from a black man, put it in a book". We don't read. We choose not to educate ourselves & IGNORANCE IS EXPENSIVE! So now ask yourself..Should I care if you don't care? I've already got a FULL-TIME job continuing to educate myself. It's not my job nor the pastor's job to babysit adults...unless of course that is the business in which you are into.
what Christ was saying is give the thing that belongs to Caesar because the money was made for him...man created money not God...Giving things to God has to do what God made which is man and animals and the earth...not money...that's y Christ said that
Matthew 22:17-21 17Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not? 18But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites? 19Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny. 20And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? 21They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.
5And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham: 6But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises.
Melchisedec was a priest so that where the Levites came in...the Levites were the priest that had no inheritance that's y it became a law of tithing
3Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually. 4Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.
it explains where the concept of tithes and offering came from...
Hebrews 7 1For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; 2To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;
@Bchristlike7 i didn't come to debate but to give u understanding and truth what u have to understand is u are talking about Abraham and Melchizedek..the children of Israel wasn't born then and it wasn't a Levitical law either because the Levites weren't born yet....i understand where u coming from about Abraham tithing to Melchizedek but this information does not prove anything..Read Genesis 14 and 15
@Bchristlike7 did u read what i said about why it is not in effect anymore?...offering was not grain but the tithes were...offerings were of the herd...there was burnt offerings, peace offerings, sin offerings of atonement, meat offerings which was of the herd not grain...go read Exodus, Levitcus, Numbers and Deuteronomy for more understanding of what tithes and offerings are
