For over 3,000 years Egypt was ruled by Pharaohs. But in that last sweep of time, one pharaoh stands out. He would reign for 67 years, command the largest empire on earth and capture the imagination of the world. His name was Ramesses. Ramesses built a reputation that has resounded through history. It was a reputation deliberately crafted by the pharaoh himself. Ramesses was in fact a master of propaganda, projecting his power beyond the battlefield across the ancient world

  • alot is exaggerated, obviously...

  • Who the fuck disliked it? fuck! The dumbest ever!

  • @Kenzofeis Yea tht is soo bad. Life is more important than stuff. It's such a sad story.

  • @MsAsiangirl89 Most leaders don't care about that. Most people are fools and believe the opposite. Some cheap bling-bling and propaganda helps fool people again and again.

  • sweet, he didn't care bout the ppl who died in the war for him :(

  • @niclasjt Here, I agree with you, but I would like to point out something very important. The Ancient Greeks of the Classical Age actually "stole" a lot of kowledge from the Ancient Egyptians, while presenting it as theirs. The Ancient Egyptians have had a direct impact on Western civilization, whereas those to the south had only local importance. This is not to say that shey should not be studied. It was just to prove that the Ancient Egyptians are more relevant to us.

  • @niclasjt Well, it's all a matter of perspective if you'd label a people such as Italians as "white". They speak an Indo-European language, are viewed as the father of modern European civilization (in reference to the Roman Empire), yet they have a long history of immigration and emigration that would mark them "mixed" at least. Hitler certainly did not view Italians as "whites". I doubt the WASP's consider Italians to be "white" as well.

  • @niclasjt I agree with you on certain parts, but where the United States is a mosaic of nationalities, perhaps we can even say races; Ancient Egypt is in my eyes part of the continuum between "black Africa" and the Semitic Middle-East. However, for the sake of simplicity, I would classify the Ancient Egyptians as "black", because they shared a lot of cultural similaritieswith them. Where did you read Cleopatra was at least half-greek? According to my sources, she was fully Macedonian.

  • @niclasjt By the way, if we talk about the early history of Ancient Egypt, I don't think the level of migratoy influx from the south would be comparable to that from the east. Simply put, the Ancient Egyptians and the Mesopotamian peoples had completely different societies from that of "Nubia". "Nubians" were not accustomed to an urban, agricultural lifestyle. Ancient Egypt guarded the upper cataracts from any "Nubian" invasion. Nubia= trade (ivory, gold, slaves etc..)

  • @niclasjt Well, it's not so hard to imagine the Germanic tribes that invaded the remnants of the Roman Empire. The Vandals went all the way to Africa. I would classify the Berbers, Libyans and Algerians as "mixed" (either with Arabs or with Roman colonists). Not that there is much sense to classifying races in the modern world, but it gives us a workable system for nations in antiquity. If my point is ignored, well, just look at those old Hollywood blockbusters. Every one is as white as snow.
