I've been to Death Valley twice and wasn't impressed with the atmosphere. I guess it was because the Hokies were destroying Clemson in both games...sort of like Clemson this year in Lane -- not much to cheer about. Lane is widely regarded as one of the greatest home field advantages. Most Vegas books consider Lane a 6-pt swing in point spreads whereas most home field advantages account for 3 points.
You guys certainly are a great team this year, and now that we're all tied up in the ACC (since we just beat GT), hopefully we'll see you guys again in the ACC Championship game! good luck to ya!
@fullnelson9999 My girlfriend (who was previously a Tech fan) thinks that the rain and the cold kept everyone quiet, and yes it was freezing but it looked like the stadium was sold out from my vantage point (in the tiger band) so im not sure. And i know you arent making excuses, the same goes for the Clem vs BC game a week ago haha, i think the fans though felt bad for BC and werent getting loud for it, but after the 3rd quarter they got louder. Looking forward to watching V Tech and G Tech lol
@cusousa Unfortunately, as far as games at Lane go, the place was not loud. I don't know why. There just wasn't as much hype for the game than there should have been. The atmosphere was more similar to a Marshall or App State game. No one seemed to give their best effort.
People were leaving early, enter sandman was a disappointment at the beginning, and no one cared.
I'm not trying to make excuses, just sharing my observations. The atmosphere that night was lame.
was there, wasnt impressed at how loud it was, Death Valley got 3 times louder when clemson entered for Auburn and FSU. I think it has to do with the stadium layout but Death Valley, def. louder...Sorry guys
@MalkinFan25 From a clemson fan to a vt fan I must give you my sympathy...We've been there before!
