It's Going To Be Okay - Episode 18 Part 1

For the next couple of days, Kevin stayed with Joe trying to help him remember his past. Hed left out the details that everyone knows are too painful to retell, including what really happened with Demi. Nick has stayed with Demi for two days, until she was almost feeling 100% again. She had been resting and eating normally, and was almost back to perfect health, physically. Demi and Joe were both being released from the hospital on the same day, but havent spoken to each other since the day Demi fainted in Joes room. She knew that once she confronted him, she would have to tell him everything, and she just wasnt ready to do that, again. The Doctor told them both that after a couple days at home, they were free to continue their lives, which meant going back to school. It was Monday morning, two weeks after Mileys party, Demi and Joes first day going back to school. In the hallway, Demi was getting her books from her locker, with Miley and David*
David: Its really nice to see you back at school, Demi. We all missed you.
Miley: You look like you are feeling a lot better. And David is right. We all missed you so much. I cant wait for everything to finally get back to normal.
Demi: (Smiles slightly) Me too. Im glad to be back at school to carry on with my life.
Selena: (Walks up behind Demi, awkwardly) Hey, Dem, how are you doing?
Demi: (Without turning around) Do you really even care, Sel?
Selena: Of course I do, Demi. Youre my best friend, and Im sorry I wasnt around. I just had a lot to think about.
Demi: (Smugly, and turning around) Cody, right?
Selena: Partially, I guess. I take it Nick told you?
Miley: What are you guys talking about?
Demi: Mi, I think you have an idea. You remember the night that you were with Joe. Why, you were with Joe. Nick found out. And so did I. All of this started that night.
Selena: Demi, please. I am so sorry, okay. For everything. I couldnt take you hating me too. If it wasnt for me, none of this wouldve happened, and Im sorry.
Demi: (Sighs) I dont hate you Sel. And its not your fault. In any circumstance, its still Codys fault. No matter what anyone else did, it all ties back to Cody

*Just then, they all draw their attention behind Selena. They see Cody walking by, laughing and having a good time, as if nothing had ever happened. As if he didnt do anything. Cody then glanced over at Demi, winked, and continued down the hall. Cody winking sent Demi shivers, they all looked back at each other*
David: He has turned into such a monster.
Miley: I dont even know who he is anymore.
Demi: As long as he stays away from us I dont care who he is.
David: From here on out, things can only get better again.
Demi: (Nods and looks at Selena) I missed you, Sel. It doesnt matter what happened in the past, what matters now is the future, and I need you in my life. All of you. The three of you have helped keep me stay strong through all of this and I thank you so much (Hugs David, Miley, and then Selena. She steps back, closes her locker and then smiles) Lets go to English.

*The four of them headed to English. Once they got there they all took their seats. Meanwhile in the hallway, Joe was at his locker gathering his books, when Taylor walked over and stood beside him*
Taylor: (Awkwardly) Hey, Joe.
Joe: (Not knowing who she is) Umm, hi?
Taylor: How are you feeling?
Joe: Fine. Do I know you?
Taylor: Umm, yeah. Im Taylor. You must not remember me. (Shrugs) Its probably better that way anyways (Nervously chuckles)
Joe: (Confused) Why do you say that?
Taylor: I guess you could say I wasnt exactly the nicest girl at this school. But Im different now. Or at least Im trying to be.
Joe: Okay. (Puts out his hand) Its nice to meet you Taylor.
Taylor: (Smiles) We have English together next. Are you ready to go?
Joe: (Smiles back) I am. Lets go.

*Joe and Taylor walk to English together. They walk through the door talking and smiling. Demi immediately noticed them, and her facial expression turned from content to upset. Her eyes met Joes, and then she quickly faced forward and looked down. Joe said goodbye to Taylor until after class, and walked over and took his seat next to Demi*
Joe: Hey, Dem.
Demi: (Doesnt say anything)
Joe: How are you feeling?
Demi: Im fine Joe. And you?
Joe: All things considering, Im doing okay (Chuckles). Ive missed you.
Demi: Thanks.
Teacher: Okay students, settle down. Take out your textbooks and read pages 46 through 60...
Joe: So about the other day
Demi: (Looks at him, knowing that he wants to hear all about why what happened, happened)
Teacher: (Looks at Joe) Quietly, please.
Joe: (Nods and just stares at Demi as she reads)
