Chen was using inverted rubber in this demonstration. He used inverted rubbers most of the time after he retired in 2000.

  • Of course it isn't. It's chop blocking. A very old-school technique for penholders you don't see that often anymore. Ma Lin still uses it.

  • I still see the chop blocking today in tournaments and it seems to be effective. If Ma Lin uses it must be great for position blocking your opponent.
