for USA's strict regulations it didn't come with an SR20DET as it's option. A weapon of choice in the Japan version. lucky i swaped in one and now it is what is should have been! USA doesn't let you have the good imports for a reason. the market would be to competative. even Toyota's amazing 4 door family isn't here. JZX100 Mark2, chaser, cresta..etc. all powered by 1JZ-GTE turbo motors.

mmmm sexy :)

@shiconia Nissan harbody pickups used the ka24de.
-
@shiconia Let's see... cast iron block, and only 2-2.4 liters of displacement, SOHC...
Who the hell would design an engine for a performance vehicle of any caliber with such weak specs? It just doesn't make any sense. Clearly, they decided to stick their new engine, designed for their smaller cars and trucks, into the NA-market S13.
Whether or not it was technically the first released with the engine is irrelevant: it's clearly not the vehicle it was originally designed for.
-
You have it wrong they put the 240z's engine in trucks as the 240 was the first to use Nissans KA24DE.
-
I'll ever understand why they felt the need to put a truck engine in this thing...

I wish my 240sx 1996 could be new like this!!

@HeavenzBreaker if they had the Bluebird SSS here instead I would have been satisfied, but the altima has never really been a nice looking car until now. The 2 door version filled the void of the 240 SX yes, BUT its not enough,Nissan needs to make an A-spec/j spec Silvia S16 or 250 SX Spec-V. they have concepts that have the lines of the S`chassy but they have to bring that car back and leave the 2 door altima in the past, agree or not....everyone wants to see the Silvia returned. The GT-R did
Wish they still made this.
