Section of a talk given at London's Swedenborg Hall on the 14th of OCT, 2006. Discussed is a novel fractal conception of brain organization where certain structural forms and dynamic processes are manifest in the brain at all scales and all areas. I then relate these aspects of the brain to timeless ideas from the world of mysticism, spirituality and religion. The overall idea being that cosmic processes and universal processes are being played out in the brain and human mind. Furthur it is related how the mystery of consciousness and the mystery of God are one and the same mystery. Therefore we should expect aspects of the divine to be revealed in brain anatomy and function.

  • just stopping by...

  • @yubarraboo you obviously know nothing of neurology, and you want science to avoid the pathology of narcissism as well?! from one atheist to another shut the fuck up..

  • Attemting to tell science to be something other than science to indulge in ego fantasies about gods and other narcissistic reflections is the task of those devoid of integrity.

If science and the truth in general offends you, it is because you are deceptive.

  • everyone is against god!not god!

  • @yubarraboohow how has science reached the truth? There is no evidence to prove or disprove the existence of God. The correct answer for any scientist when asked "is God real?", should be I cant tell you because of the lack of data. I dont know why people even argue about this anymore, we'll all know or not know when were dead, if God is real we will find out, if God is not real we will never know. So for the unbelievers it should not matter at all, our lives are a small speck of time, enjoy.

  • @GurgleGurgleBlahBlah

but that's why they like it, it reaches the conclusion they want rather than the truth

  • Dualism of consciousness

Our computer-brain works on a Dualistic basis:

    consciousness and subconsciousness.

The neurons of brain create these two levels

So, that means consciousness and subconsciousness from physical point of view ( as interaction between billions and billions neurons ) It can only mean that the states of neurons in these two situations are different

How to understand these different states of neurons ? . . etc

  • so r the smarter people mor god then others

  • This is a totally incoherent talk. He presents no evidence for the non-sense he presents. He preaches for people who have already chosen what they believe.

To all who like this video: science does not work by picking up a conclusion (i.e., God = consciousness) and then working towards it. Science works by establishing some baselines on the quality of the evidence (e.g., repeatability, ...) and then following the evidence with no complaints. He doesn't do that here.

  • A fantastic and insightful talk, but the whole structure does just as well, in fact much better without the inclusion of the "divine" and "god". Consciousness and the Universe are conspiracies a thinking mind can accept.
