After recent problems with form, which saw the Hoops slip to one point behind first place, Rovers looked forward to the home-drawn cup semi-final against St.Pats as a break from the league and a chance to re-group for the final push. The first match was a exciting affair, with Rovers taking the lead twice. However St.Pats were handed a lifeline when, in the final minutes of the game Rovers scored an own goal, and a replay was set for two days later.
In front of a packed away crowd in Richmond Park Rovers showed the same confidence that had put them top of the league previously and while St.Pats fought hard to progress it was the Hoops who broke the deadlock to join Sligo in the first cup match to be held in the new Aviva Stadium.
wonderfull!!!!!!!!! C'mon the Hoops! Greetings from Portugal
