See this is what scares me. When people decide to throw science to the side and decide what is an acceptable human and not. I recall that the Native American were not real people just savages and therefore it was ok to remove them from land. The lights were being kept artificially flickering, but nobody was home.

Actually, she was autopsied and found to be comatose. Her eye movements (the sole argument against her being fully vegetative) were caused by a reflexive reaction to the detection of shifts in light.

I'm surprised there are people who didn't hear about the autopsy of Terri Schiavo (and the attendant and irrefutable proof that she was brain-dead). On a side note, it's not accurate to portray suicide bombers and firefighters as equally choosing to die. Firefighters, soldiers, and cops put themselves in danger, but they don't sign up for the job with the intent of dying (usually). Suicide bombers are, of course, a different story.
