Just playing with some new toys I got in. These are the Radio Poppers wireless system that allows me to control and fire the Canon 580 EX II's remotely. The difference between this setup and usual Canon ST-E2 Infrared transmitter is the now I now longer have 'Line of Sight' limitations. In fact, I believe they've tested this system outdoors at over 800 feet.
The Radio Popper transmitter listens to a Master remote, sends the signal wirelessly, and the Radio Popper receiver (attached to the flash) converts the signal back to Infrared. Unlike other wireless setups, these allow me to retain Canon communication to all the flashes, I can set ratios, power levels, control Groups of flashes, support High Speed Sync and more without having to walk over and adjust anything! It's all controlled within the 5d Mark II and the transmitter i'm using.
