Boehner on Fox: Dems Health Care Bill Will Kill Job Prospects in America

Appearing on Fox News Fox & Friends and On the Record with Greta Van Susteren, House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) said that its crunch time for Democrats trying to twist enough arms to force a massive government takeover of health care through Congress. Boehner reiterated that if the American people stay engaged, we can win this fight and stop Washington Democrats 2,309-page health care bill thats only gotten worse and will kill job prospects in America. Boehner called the controversial Slaughter Solution Democrats intend to use to pass the Senate health care bill without voting on it an affront to every American and a prime example of why the American people are upset about the bill and the arrogance of power thats going on here.

This is going to be a very close vote, and its crunch time. Theyre doing everything they can to get the votes. Im doing everything I can to make sure members understand that they can vote with their constituents or they can vote with Speaker Pelosi. But they cant do both. There is nobody who is going to hide on this vote. Its the biggest vote I've seen in the 20 years Ive been here in Washington and so its crunch time and time for the American people to really get engaged because we can stop this if the American people will stay engaged in the process.

It sure sounds like theyre still scheming and plotting, trying to find a way to bring this to the floor without having a direct vote on the bill. This is a 2,300-page bill thats only gotten worse as theyve come out with their second bill to try to clean up the first bill. And yesterday we fought to have a straight up-or-down vote on the Senate-passed bill and Im still hopeful we can force them to do that. The American people are asking where are the jobs? This bill is going to do nothing more than kill job prospects in America. When you raise the cost of employment, make it more difficult for people to hire, theyre going to hire less people.

It makes me sick, I can't believe this can be happening in our country. I really fear for what is going to become of our health care system after this bill passes----and our country, as well. They are using numbers in their favor. The job's that have been created, are jobs like lawn care business's or service job's or temporary job's that do not reflect the truth to us. They are just fudging numbers. Why do you think in the last 10 years we have seen an increase in temp agency's? This country has lost it's industrial base, and foreign companies are providing job's but not real economic growth.

Hey Boehner, since you've promised to cut discretionary spending, why don't you give up your taxpayer-funded health insurance? After all, why should my tax dollars go to pay for your health care? It's not my fault you can't get out of the tanning salon!

Why not take some personal responsibility and buy your own individual insurance plan like everyday Americans have to? Just pray it doesn't get cancelled after you're diagnosed with skin cancer.

what about the people who will DIE because they cant afford a surgery or treatment? people with cancer who health care has cut off, and are forced to sell their homes, cars and anything to get them enough money to live? don't they get a say in this?

this bill is better than nothing and it will help people much more than Boehner's plan ever will
