That's a fair comment this is harking back to the "good old days". and although reggae music has changed a lot this can seem dated. I suspect that is one reason why this dance worked for some. people were able to get back a bit of the past among the new stuff that some are tired of.
Eventually sounds just cater for their core audience before eventually riding off into the sunset with its followers.
I guess that's just the way it goes if there is no new blood to take over.

I don't think the music is as enjoyable as it once was. I remember the early eighties and this music would blow you away. I was always looking around to find this music, and in those days it was very difficult. And it never really got played on the radio or television. And most records shops never sold this music. So being able to play this in those days and in the 1990's was heaven. But now, I don't know, it's just lost it's real energy for me.
Unfortunately I think you're missing the point. Every music has a place on YouTube. That's the whole point. If you don't like this style of reggae (or reggae at all for that matter) there's a entry box at the top that has a search button beside it. You are free to use it whenever you want, there is no charge. You see, that's the beauty of YouTube... something for everybody.
Anyway, this took me back to the 80's when I used to follow Saxon.

Great to see these legends back.Mi 'ave Saxon tape from '83 on yah! Levi,Tippa,Sandy & Colonel a drop true lyrical wizadry inna London, UK style;as did Gen Echo, Buru Banton,Papa San,the late great Nicodemus, & Briggy Jerry in JA, plus Shinehead a US.This is what true dancehall is about;run de vocal first, then let the deejay come in & ride de riddim wid intelligent, entertaining lyrics, instead of just playing 10-20 sec of so-called 'specials' which has only killed reggae music's progressive edge.
