Latins in The Borough Art Gallery is proud to introduce the Art of Chilean Artist Luis Villanueva. Paintings that differ from pure fantasy, that offer a multifaceted fiction that incorporates metropolis thinking, rejects some components of it, and also incorporates and shapes the traditions of Latin America, inserted in modern world with authentic descriptions of the countryside of Chile.

Villanueva's work involves the fusion of the real and the fantastic, an amalgamation of realism and fantasy. The presence of the supernatural in magical realism is connected to the primeval or "magical' farmer mentality, which exists in conjunction with European rationality. An expression of a new reality which at once combines the rational elements of the European civilization, and the irrational elements of the countryside South American.
