Take a standard 450cc motocross bike, retain the swing arm, frame and engine - with a few modifications, race bodywork, road forks and wheels - and you can go racing.
Great concept - the moto 450 super single racing class.
Here you can see Mike 'Spike' Edwards and Mark Hanna and the moto 450 that they campaigned for 2009.

  • how much does it cost for the aftermarket parts to modify the mx. I mean as cheap as possible

  • It really depends on which MX you start off with, but looking at a rough guess, you could get a road front end for about £500 - rear wheel - £150, bodywork - £400, rear shock mod - £200, various other bits and pieces should allow £300. And that will get it up and running for you to test and try. Then to complete the build, you may have to fabricate some bits that you can't buy. All the best,

    Mike.

  • To do full conversion someone is out there already supplying...

  • Nice thing about this class is that these 450MX motors are real racing motors and tough. I wouldn't be surprised if you can get 70+ HP out of one without a ton of effort. Add in that they are light and you have a pretty serious performance machine. Very cool, and affordable way to go racing.

  • This could really be the future of European club racing! Cheap and easy to ride plus it makes the right sound!

  • @MikeEdwards09 where can u get the roadracer kit? i 've been loooking everywhere for Roland Sand charges too much for bike.

  • @GulloMotard they have kits for the aprilia aswell my man XD

  • that's looks interesting. But I have a limited budget so I just want to build one out of a KTM 250SX and race it against the 450 four strokes like on the dirt!

  • @GulloMotard its been done. most popular in the british series where you run the 450 twin or massive singles. they are very fast. i want to see a cr500 super single

  • i can't imagine what appen if u put in the v engine of the aprilia rxv 450 =)
