Muscling for Dollars
Hello All,
In an effort to raise funds for the YMCAs Partners with Youth, Im asking for your help again. Last year I raised $700 for the program by reaching a personal goal of bench pressing 435 lbs. Many of you pledged and donated up to $40 towards last year campaign. The YMCA thanks you for your generosity. This year I am asking that you again to show your generosity by helping me raise funds again toward a $1000 goal. What I am asking each of you to do for me is to donate $1 dollar. You can donate as much as you want towards this campaign, but I ask that a minimum of $1 be given. What I am going to do for my part is that for every dollar given, I will do one (1) 315 lbs bench press repetition. My goal is to bench press 315 lbs 1000 times by July 1, just in time for my annual bench press competition at the 2009 Iowa Games. I will again keep a video journal on www.youtube.com so you can keep up with my progress. I will construct a bulletin board for the YMCA to show my progress. I am really excited to attempt to lift the cumulative average of 315,000 lbs resulting in raising funds for a program I am proud to support. Below I will explain how to get the donation to the right place. If you see me on a daily basis I will accept donations.
Partner With Youth
At the YMCA, when we say, "for all," we really mean it. Due to the generosity of many local donors, the YMCA strives to never turn anyone away due to an inability to pay. Through Partner With Youth, individuals and businesses in the community partner with the YMCA to make sure every child can be a part of the YMCA.
Dollars raised are an investment in the future of thousands of lives in our area by providing scholarships to those in need. Last fiscal year the YMCA of Greater Des Moines processed 29,544 scholarship transactions valued at $1,550,770 in financial assistance to deserving youth, individuals and families to ensure participation in all YMCA programs. In every sense, Partner With Youth is an investment for the future of central Iowa communities.
The 2009 goal for Partner With Youth Campaign is $1,160,000. Every penny of your contribution will help immerse a child in the YMCA's world of positive values and guidance.
All donations should be sent and made payable to:
Walnut Creek YMCA
948 73rd St
Des Moines, IA 50312
515-224-1888All questions should be directed towards Maurio or Terry Feldt.
