@guineapiggyman People's accounts all still have similarities to whatever is popular at the time. If you go back far enough there are no aliens, instead people talk about being visited by witches, hags, trolls, etc. If aliens have always been abducting people, you would think that accounts of flying saucers and greys would be found all across the world in every time period. What seems more likely is that aliens are simply the latest form of the boogeyman...
