@TrackMaster555 The smoke deflectors were fitted during service with BR. Also again during it's recent years in preservation. Once Scotsman is repainted back into LNER Apple Green livery very shortly, the Smoke deflectors will be refitted. If you have chance, worth getting to the NRM at york today or tomorrow. Cheers.

Hornby, this is fitted with their basic decoder: R8249 Locomotive Decoder. Full details of it's specs on Hornby's website. Very good value for money too.

I thought the flying scotsman didnt have those black protector bits on the sides of the smokebox I know that gresleys do but i thought that the flying scotsman didnt
