Why? Two reasons, one, two see how electrical appliances can contribute to fire development in the home, as a Fire Investigator, this can be somewhat useful, secondly, don't take your electrical appliances apart, i'd have thought it was fairly obvious?

If there was no fuse, the item wouldn't have worked

at the start what was the other thing on fire???
davzliam 3 years ago
davzliam, the other thing on fire was a coffee maker. Didn't go very well though. It's just a hotplate. The team stuffed it full of paper which sort of defeats the object.

He didn't feed it 200V or 400V or 10KV...
Hairdryers need airflow to prevent the heating element and housing from overheating and the fan provides that airflow.
so IMHO he just bypassed/removed the fan...
Since few, if any, hairdryers have a thermostat, it melted away...
