A herring gull kill at South Side, Nova Scotia, clearly shows the negative effects of processing herring roe for sushi and other nasty products. Notice the skeletons of other gulls killed in past gull kills. Please never eat herring roe or fishsticks to help save herring gulls and other marine life. Help COHPS help our ocean inhabitants. • Herring gulls are the greatest birds ever. I love the sounds they make. I love to watch them, they have such characters. They are wondeful, and long may the live beyond human life with any luck!!

  • I love the sound your comments made too :)

  • The only good gull is a dead one! There should be laws to prevent owners of properties from allowing gulls to nest.

The pollution is unbelievable both in noise and in their mess and nests etc. Bottulism, e-coli, salmonella, lice, fleas and tics. They belong in the cliffs, NOT on domestic properties and its about time they were culled and made to go back to their natural habitat!!

  • The present state of the seagull's natural habitat is why they are rested on your roof looking for french fries to eat :)

  • @jbbatchelor then burn down the houses that rest on their natural habitat and get rid of the disease ridden people that live in them.

  • I'd like to second "dod4luce" comments, I love watching the Herring Gulls where I work and the sound they make evokes childhood memories of holidays at the seaside. My work place has the same regular gulls visiting daily and I now take in dog biscuits to feed them as they are cheap to buy

  • absolutely right !!

  • the only good jbbatchelor is a dead one!!

  • well said!!!

  • why shouldnt they protect their young? would you? doh!!!

  • absolutely!!!!

  • And humans dont spread filthy diseases? My GOD you are so unintelligent. If it were not for us foul human species the herring gull would not be carrying so many diseases. Its OUR rubbish, our waste........ the crap us humans leave around that attracts them to our homes in the first place.

CULL the humans would be a better idea! WE are the parasites of this planet!!
