How To: Change Windows 7 Start orb

In this short tutorial I will be showing you how to change your windows 7 start orb (start button). The programs/things you will need are: Restorator and take ownership.

Steps
1. Take ownership of explorer.exe (windows folder)
2. Open explorer.exe in restorator.
3. Replace bitmaps 6801, 6805 and 6809
4.Save as explorer.exe
5. Start task manager and end explorer.exe
6. Press file new task and type "explorer.exe" hit run

i downloaded your link for TakeOwnership, and saved it. So i reopened the C Drive, Went to "Windows" and right clicked on the file "explorer" it doesn't show .exe and it won't let me take control brah HELP !

@Unbellievablle Try going to my computer then click organize (near top left) then click folder and search options then view then show hidden files, folders, and drives and uncheck hide extensions for known file types.

Also disable UAC and be on the admin account.

If that doesn't work just post another reply here.

I can't find the explorer.exe folder at all. The only folder there is the regular explorer folder, but no .exe

What should I do?

That's because the folder option "show file extensions" The explorer under the folder "Windows" is the right one wither .exe is there or not.

I have everything there but when i click on take control then like a window pops up and closes immediately

OK I changed bitmaps but if I reload "explorer.exe" new orb is shown just few seconds and then automaticaly change into old one.. if i check explorer.exe bitmap is changed.. but still same problem even if i restart whole pc :( can U help me??

Ok, I've found the explorer.exe, however when I click 'Take ownership' I still can't edit the file in any way.

I can only make the take ownership option appear when i click on a folder.

Not the .exe
