New Yorkers Sound Off on Bloomberg's Drink Ban

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg outlined a plan Wednesday to ban the sale of sugary soft drinks larger than 16 ounces at restaurants, movie theaters, street carts and other venues.

Reason.tv's Anthony Fisher took to the streets to ask New Yorkers what they thought about Bloomberg and the ban.

I wish my state had someone that I elected, and whose salary and benefits I pay for tell me what I can and can't drink! How I clamor for someone to make the decisions that I simply cannot because I'm not a politician! I wouldn't want them to stop with drinks, I'd want them to tell me that I'm not giving them enough of my money, and to pass laws to stop people from doing bad things. Then when bad people continued to do bad things pass more laws so I can't defend myself! That'd be great!!!

i think Bloomberg went too far on this one-but i agree with him on having the restaurants monitor the amount of trans-fat-they seriously need to ban restaurants from selling things like cheeseburgers with onion rings and bacon on top that with lettuce and tomato-those type of foods lead to serious health problems-

Truth #1: they ban 20 oz drinks so that people will buy 2 10 oz. 2 items means 2x tax.
