there is a blue cord that connects to a little while box that connects to a long cord that goes in my wall which i assume gives internet around the house. Is that blue cord needed and is my assumption right or near correct?

You are right on this however just one small thing on the 2 satellite inputs. Notice one of them says (SWM2)? If a Single Wire Multiswitch KA/Ku system is installed it gets both lines of data through one cable verses a standard KA/KU dish system which does require both lines.
