This is me playing Halo using the Xbox emulator, Xeon. So far, Xeon only supports Halo NTSC (Not Halo2!). The original author _SF_ hasn't been seen or heard from in years so the status of this emulator remains unknown. This game isn't fully playable on Xeon, but you can play though the first level (if you ever play it that long), but it closes on the next one.

As for performance, Xeon runs Halo rather well on my desktop with an AMD Athlon64 3000+ (2.0GHz), NVIDIA GeForce 6600 256MB, and 512MB Ram. My performance was better with NVIDIA's older GeForce 6 drivers, allowing me to overclock Xeon to 72 FPS, but now I can only get 40 FPS max.

  • awesome!!!!

  • @Oskarmandude1 Youtube was bugging out on my end, removed the posts...

"You are one of those console kiddies who hates the keyboard and mouse, LOL" For me, it just depends on the game, not the platform. Example, I'd never play games like HalfLife, Sinistar, or various other RTS on a console because that game was made optimally for PC's keyboard and mouse. Halo (as an FPS) was not. Second, Halo PC runs horribly on x64 for me, I'd still rather use the console version. Btw, I'm older than you, lol

  • @blueshogun96

Why did you post that comment 4 times?

Yes, the original animations look slow at 60 FPS, but the Flamethrower and Fuel Rod Gun looks great in 60 FPS. There are mods for animations with 60 FPS, too.

You are one of those console kiddies who hates the keyboard and mouse, LOL

  • @Oskarmandude1 Once again, you boast your opinions to be facts (in your final statement)....

The game and it's animations were designed to run at 30fps and looks awful at 60. 30fps is also my preferred framerate for many game genres and FPS is one of them (and yes, I know I can lock it at 30 on PC). Playing campaign online and mods is nice and all, but I dislike playing Halo using keyboard and mouse and setting up certain gamepads to function properly was impossible.

Video game consoles are types of computers, but the original Xbox is more of a computer than any other console, infact, it is basically a computer.

  • @blueshogun96

With mods you can play the campaign online via multiplayer, while the AI doesn't sync online, it should on LAN and I think people are working on making the AI sync the same way it does on Anniversary (Halo: Graphics Evolved).

On the PC, you can get 60 FPS, high res textures, high screen resolution, mods (like even higher and more realistic textures, or even new vehicles and weapons) and more maps.

Anyone who thinks the console version is better is a console kiddy.

  • @Oskarmandude1 This is your opinion, not a fact. I like the console version better because not only can I play co-op, the Xbox1 controller makes it more challenging and I have less x64 related driver issues slowing it down. IMO, a better single player/co-op experience beats multiplayer every time. Besides, XBConnect works just fine for me when I want multiplayer.

  • @EmuNext

    No, I don't fail, and I'm a dude.

The PC version is better because it has great mods, online multiplayer and more maps.
