View tab at http://www.freeguitarvideos.com/LJ_Bl/pedal-note-lick.html We will cover using pedal tones or notes in our minor pentatonic blues scale. This is a great way to break up the monotony of just playing successive notes in the scale.
@Guitarvirtuoso666 Yeah i know that now, I bought an american made Ibanez like that, but I hade the fretboard cleaned nice as shit so, we're all good now!
no it's his fingerboard that is weared down by lots of playing:)
maple fingerboards are very prone to that, unless they have a proper finish on top. but his guitar probaly has a vintage style neck (or is a real vintage who knows?) so that it is weared down:)
Hay Jody... I really appreciate this lesson. I'm a blues player who knows the basics but I'm not satisfied. I got stoopid fingers...! This helps. I need to find effective ways to improve on two fronts: 1). Finger dexterity and 2). Ear training. I wish I know better practice techniques to these ends but geared twards blues players in particular. - Thanx...!

Great lesson, this kind of thing is a great tool to have in your soloing arsenal to break up the monotony.
PS: That guitar reeks of mojo, what I wouldn't give...

nice technique; I usually use it with major/minor scales, but this is actually quite refreshing to hear in a blues scale.
