It was 3 am and I decided to play the bass part for Marvin Gaye's version of Heard it Through the Grapevine.

I was never really able to hear the bass well in this song, but then I watched youtube user Jamersonshook's video where he played it and I learned it off of that. I can't yet play a faithful copy of the original song, so what I'm doing here is improvising with the few patterns I know. I hope it sounds ok.

  • I thought this was Creedence? Good bassin

  • Yeah, both CCR's and Gaye's versions are covers. Gladys Knight's version is the original. The bass in that one is crazy. Same bassist as this version though.
