I met Keith (and the rest of the guys) in Buffalo,NY at the McDonald's at Niagara Falls Blvd. & Maple after The Who concert at Melody Fair in the late '60's. He was/is hilarious! We would have had them over for a beer at a good friend's house, but they had to catch a plane.

bloody hell ... this was keith when he wasn't at all in the best shape of his life - probably the worst ... and he stills manages to blow my mind... genius ... he plays his heart out and gives it everything he's got till there's nothing left... literally till the end and ultimately the end of him ...... jesus this man !! o.o

Remember this was Keith at the end of his life, and just a shadow of his former drumming self...he had an awful time even getting through the Who Are You sessions, just too far gone (and that's from Townshend himself). Imagine seeing Keith drumming in 1966...a friggin' machine!!!

man i thought bonham and moon drowned in a giant bass drum full of booze,im a drummer and thats the way i wanna go..,or the enthwhistle way would be better..couple of hookers and a bag of coke.
-
those drums better be 18

@drewlsy Check out Bonham in wikipedia. Under "death" it explains the whole day of his death where he was drinking heavily all day then fell asleep. He died by inhaling his own vomit - asphyxiation
-
@jdrum12 NO WAY, REALLY? I guess they both did then, without Wiki'ing it - I'll take your word for it. I don't know why I thought he died in a plane crash or car crash. John Bonham the led Zeppelin drummer, right? moon dies in his sleep for sure, I know that.
-
@drewlsy bonham died in his sleep - alcohol
-
@timepope the difference is bonham died in a plane crash.
I love how you can hear him screaming, leaking into the drum mics. Awesome.
