Her advice for feeding is NOT correct. Commercial pellets are the lazy way to feed. These as well as other parrots should be given a variety of seeds, nuts, vegetables, and fruits - not processed crap.
Just make sure you will have enough time for your grey because they really need alot of attention. When I got mine he was my only pet and i had a lot of help from my mom and grandmother but if you feel like you are ready then go for it and get a baby one if you can :)
@DinamiteLizard I have an African Grey myself and he is the best bird. I got him as a gift when i was 7 and he was my first parrot as well as my first pet. Today he is 11 years old. Great for first time bird keepers especially if you have already done the research they are easy to train and talk more than most parrots:) However, they do need lots of attention to feel like part of the family so a lot of time as well as patience is needed. If you can try to get the parrot as a baby :)
Hey, I'm a reptile keeper but am considering maybe getting an African Grey Parot. I have been doing my reaserch on them but there is still a lot I don't know. Can anyone please help me and tell be more then just the basics?!? Are these parrots good for first time bird keepers? PLEASE RESPOND
