Well, I'm no expert here, but isolating the motor vibration from the light brass seems like a start. You might use a piece of tubing soldered to the chassis as a motor "bed" and attach the motor with soft silicone caulking. I have done re-motoring jobs using clear silicone with success. The thinness of the metal is letting the vibrations shake the whole assembly, so going to something heavier might be the next step if the first doesn't help. (Yeah, I know: fix it by remaking it! Thanks a bunch!)

Not to be a pick about that beautiful work, but why does a belt drive make that much noise?

I'm not entirely sure. The chassis is just .010" etched brass with the motor glued to it in this video. In my latest video I packed in epoxy around the motor. I think there will be some noise with this high of a gear reduction.
Any ideas how to quiet it down further?
