If I had to go and live on a desert island with only one record THIS would be IT! My all-time favourite, it still gives me goosebumps when it plays on the radio or whenever I don't expect to hear it. Frank Wilson really pulled all the stops out when he wrote the song - I emailed him and told him so! Enjoy this version. I was at the concert along with many other Supremes fans. I know the group disbanded in June 1977 (I was at that concert too!) but the group lives on in the authentic, capable hands of Scherrie & Lynda - long may they reign SUPREME! Stoned Love, Steve.x

ps. I'm having the song played at my funeral (which hopefully won't be for a long time yet)- along with "Up The Ladder To The Roof". How much more can anyone love The Supremes!!!

  • These ladies are good P.S. Jean Terrell lookslike a mix of Gladys Knight and Diana Ross

  • @coolsweetgroovy Yeah - I can see where you're coming from with that...

  • Hey! I have the CD but I didn't know that the performance had also been video taped. Does anybody know how to get the whole show on video????

  • It's still not out on DVD - yet!

  • Does anyone know when this performance took place. As a fan of Jean Terrell's, I'm glad to hear her voice so many year's after the Supreme's did "Stoned Love."

  • Yes, I was there. Dominion Theatre, London.

  • I don't see how having a trained voice robs your voice of charisma. Plenty of professional singers continue to develop when given the opportunity to do so. I like what Diana brought, and I like what Flo brought. I don't buy that they had to cancel each other out. I think it is hogwash to suggest that The Supremes could have succeeded with Diana and only Diana at lead. Some machines are so well-oiled that any competent driver will do.

  • Had a chance to meet Lynda and Scherrie. What classy, talented ladies. They're living proof you don't have to be an original to be Supreme!

  • Where did Jean's voice go???? Did she smoke?

Lynda looks bored as hell, as usual

Scherrie's pipes are in perfect pitch. Not only that, she is working the hell out of her performance!

  • STONED LOVE PEOPLE

  • @bigbear39ca RIGHT ON!

  • @PaulDePace I know it's disgusting. That's because most people or many people don't have the discipline to stop eating as much as they did when they were young and their metabolisms were much higher.

  • First, I love Scherrie, I love Lynda, I adore Jean, but the Supremes sound is not one of belting the songs out!..I know that can work on some songs, but the Supremes songs are songs of vocal interplay and subtlety that do not have to beat us up!! This is a great performance, but sometimes The Former Ladies could stand to soften the sound (not necessarily the volume)...THAT IS SOME OF THE SUPREMES MAGIC AS WELL!!

  • in my opinion dis iz tha best i'vee heard of Stoned Love.! :)

  • I remember the first time I heard this 71 I think and it wasn't the usual Motown it was better but you know what? I prefer this live performance now - somuch love in their hearts

  • Now this would be THE show to see of the Supremes-Mary not necessary but still loved:)
