The annual Terry Fox Run is a worldwide charity event that commemorates Canadian hero Terry Fox and raises funds for cancer research. We went to the Stanley Park Terry Fox Run, one of several available locations in the Greater Vancouver area. News anchor Jill Krop of Global BC made a little speech, and firefighters warmed up the participants, who can either run or walk one of two distances, 3 km and 10 km. We elected to walk the 10k around the Stanley Park seawall, which turned out to be the unpopular choice. Since we took our time taking photos and videos, we took two and half hours and were surely the last to arrive. By the time we finished, everyone has gone home, including the free breakfast put out by the Four Seasons Hotel! We wondered if the Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life, which was being held at the same time and in the same area, had any food, but alas, we had to go home hungry :)
Our friend Butch went to The Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life and you can watch his video of that event at http://youtu.be/Z8_SdWfWUEs
