The Life story of Music Producer Kannon Cross, a.k.a. "Cavie" plays out like a who's who of hip-hop's most influential and historic figures.

The west coast super producer was plucked off the streets of Compton California by N.W.A. co-founder Eazy-E, along with DJ Train. A young Cavie was blessed enough to live out his teenage years under the wings of N.W.A. members, Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, Ice Cube, DJ Yella, MC Ren and the D.O.C., watching them put together what is now considered to be the most legendary Hip-Hop works of all time.

From there, Cavie moved to Blackground Entertainment, run by Barry Hankerson, uncle to the late Aaliyah. At Blackground Cavie produced several records with Aaliyah, including "Back in One Piece," featuring DMX which was showcased on the "Romeo Must Die" soundtrack. Cavie mentions how Aaliyah's final album was set to be a double that would feature many tracks from the producer, but that double album would never come to be.

At Blackground, Cavie produced music not only for Aaliyah, but also Missy Elliott and worked alongside Timbaland. Since the days at Blackground Cavie's relationship with Timbaland has continued and the two are set to work on upcoming records.

For the last 20 years Cavie has worked alongside Hip Hops legends, working on benchmark tracks for Ice Cube, Mack 10, Xzibit, T.I. DMX and also had the privilege of producing some of the late Pimp C's last recorded songs. Currently Cavie is in the midst of producing several come back tracks for the legendary DMX and is scheduled to do the same for T.I.

Cavie has also just been called on by Cee-Lo Green, one half of the super group Gnarles Barkley. The call was a request to not only produce records for Cee-Lo's upcoming solo effort, but also for his return to the Dungeon Family based crew, Goodie Mob, which along with Outcast was what first made them all famous.

These projects are not the only albums currently on Cavie's plate, The super producer has been very busy at The Vault Sound Lab in Hollywood California and has agreed to work on another album for Macy Gray after their first track, "Beauty in the World", generated several television placements.

When it comes to the real History of Hip-Hop, Kannon Cross has been the producer filling your ears with that funk from your favorite artist for the last decade. With his new found home at The Vault Sound.LAB in Hollywood there is sure to be more to come.
