    This has no bearing on what treeguy is saying. He might be right, and they might have been right in the 80's and so forth. Assuming "they" did say the same thing.

    I think economics have a lot to do with it. Strangely the music market was much larger in the 80's, consequently more room for experimentation. Also there were big mistakes by the recording industry turning a lot of musicians of.
