Good job Big Cat. Do you know when swift is going to switch to computer logs and what do you think about the talk of the reduced hours of service to 10 hours to driver. Stay G.O.A.T. Big Cat.

No disrespect to any of the Swift drivers, but I had a horrable experiance with Swift. If you are a new driver, dont sighn on with Swift. Because your DM, will not have your back. They set you up to fail. Especially if you are out of Richmond VA. Freddy Hillard is a true jackass!!!

@m22af91 also hopefully you are not getting ripped off to go to Swfit's school either. Just to point out back in '02, it cost me $1,250 and the used a 3rd party school. All it took was a dirt range, getting my truck time in for driving and skills and being there everyday for for a 120-hr CDL driving course. Just remember any type of incident when first out on the road is more likely to occur within the first 0-6 months of driving so be careful out there and don't let Swift push you.

@m22af91 hopefully you've done the math on this and you don't have a lot of monthly expenses to meet. What you might not know about the industry is that you are competing with the rails, drivers from Mexico, and drivers from Canada for miles. It used to be where loads would be dropped at the border and US truckers would pick them up either at a drop yard or a broker. Getting your permit is easy. If you need some sample test questions, then go to CRST's sight and familiarize yourself.

@killer2600 you are correct there. Tried for over two years with Swift and got paid shit for it. The job isn't worth the life sacrifice. The entire industry is shit when you don't get credit for time already put in especially if you want to expand your job skills in other areas of the workforce. I wouldn't waste time working for the bigger general freight outfits unless I was desperate. Already seen the country though. No need to drive the 48 states.

I know there's a lot of crap being said about Swift. But as a soon to be newbie driver [hopefully after getting my permit this week, I might be going up to their school for training] but this vid seems to be helpful. . Bookmarked!

As much as this video trys to sell/promote swift it tells the facts. There isn't any money to be made going to swift as a new driver. $20-25k is SHIT for a job you only go home from every 2-4 weeks on average and while working carry a heavy burden of responsibility and liability.
Truth be told the big companies are full of themselves. Drivers risk and lay on the line more than the industry would like to lead people to believe and pay them mcdonald wages in compensation. Total BS.

@YaBoyBaby916 I had to use a truck as a marker once on I-80 E when it was getting dark with blowing snow and all. In my opinoin when it gets that bad, it might be better to bite the bullet and go over on I-70 or just avoid the rockies/Wyoming altogether and get as far east as possible.
