  • I would also like to point out that adam and eve received ak 47's, God would not give an inferior rifle to his creations, just to watch it jam on them so the snake could bite them in the ass. Just kidding. Last thing i want to do is turn this into an ar vs ak debate. All guns are great. everyone should own 2 of every kind. (above .25 cal in semi auto pistols of course) God bless everyone and safe shooting.

  • I think there should be no gun laws period. It defy's our second amendment. Nuke silo's oh yeah and who can afford those? Thats the thing. NO bad villain would be able to afford any of the really terrible stuff. THe most you would see is an rpg or flamethrower. But if you had an rpg or flamethrower u really think these bad guys would want to come and rob you? Haha i think not. Common sense my friends common sense.

  • @assman255 Well the world is obviously not black and white. Still, as a person who worked in film all my life, I think it's pretty obvious what kind of films the average human relates to by watching box office numbers. Perhaps you are not the average person. I applaud you for that. Anger and violence are worthless endeavors. Meanwhile, history is rife with them both. Sadly, I think you are the exception, not the rule.

  • @thechurchofdave are u people all nuts, ive never had an urge to hurt anybody, self defence not included. and i sure don't want to pick up poop w/hands much less thow it as someone.

  • i'm never owning a gun agian. me and a friend got in same trouble. after probation, not jail, he paid 15gs to get it of his record. i don't believe in that sort of thing. even if they said i could own a gun agian i wouldn't. to many gun laws that don't make sence other than just fed gun control. like if i pay off the right people then pay for permit to conceal it's still illegal to carry it loaded accross invisable state lines even w/reciprocity laws and an empty gun is just a paper weight.

  • @somecomputergeek Now yer talkin ;)

Maybe I shouldn't have used the word "crazy". While I actually think that the vast majority of people on this planet (especially those in power) are completely insane, that's beside the point.

I think I understand what you're saying. Even if people don't base their behavior on what I would consider to be objective principles, their behavior itself must be accepted as part of objective reality if anyone wants to actually improve that reality.

  • @thechurchofdave

I understand exactly what you mean, and I actually agree. Our DNA doesn't exactly give us all the tools we need to act in a civilized manner any more than it gives us the ability to do math. Both are skills that must be learned, and some parents don't do a good job teaching their children these skills. However, just because a parent didn't teach his kid math doesn't mean 2 + 2 doesn't equal 4. In other words, some "ideals" are based on empirical, objective reality.

  • @stabbyronnie See now I would disagree. Because I think you can agree that all people should not own a skillsaw or a car or a bulldozer. Guns are tools. Not everyone is capable of safely handling tools. Gun prohibition on the other hand is still worthless.

  • @somecomputergeek I not saying we should all resort to the lowest form of humanity. I am saying in discussions, deal with the truth as apposed to inflammatory opinions such as "crazy people". If you were raised in a violent world, it's not crazy to be violent. You don't' solve the problems by complaining about "crazy people." You solve the problems by figuring out why certain people are willing to step outside social norms and then learn how to address those real world problems.

  • @somecomputergeek I will skip analogies and state my point more clearly.

The human animal is still an animal. It has internal conflict between nature and nurture. The level of civilization in a given person is going to have a lot to do with how much exposure that person has had to either nurturing civilized behavior or rather uncivilized, violent, abusive influences.

I am not saying turn into animals. I am saying ideals don't define humanity, reality does. Ideals are something work towards.

  • @thechurchofdave

A lion can not reason. Human beings, on the other hand, can, and do, on occasion. Just because other human beings refuse to doesn't mean that we should not. The human capacity to reason comes out of our need to grow and dominate the resources around us, and is just as natural as a lion's instinct to attack us.

The problem with "civilized rules" is that they are not civilized, but created by criminals who are, as you say, are "the biggest thieves" in society.
