I would definitely speak to somebody in French if they needed help. I wouldn't pretend that I don't speak French in order to be an asshole. Granted an anglophone can't be expected to learn every language, and neither can anybody. But foreigners survive on their english in other countries in the same way an anglophone survives in France. That is with their english level. It just happens to be our native language, and a lot of foreigners happen to forget that. And it's quite annoying actualy
