Yeah, earplugs make it a little better. I also crewed for 20yrs (Norton & March AFB), tho on the reserve side 17 of them. The Baghdad, Balad, & Baghram med-evacs & "Angel Flights" pretty much ended it for me.

The tube of pain.......
Logged over 10,000 hours on the 141 as a LM.

@acftnut We were stranded in NZ for a few days on the way to Aussie. BEAUTIFUL country.

joe...meant to give you a thumbs up. Hit the wrong key by accident. Sorry. See my post for my memories of the 141.

When my dad went from being stationed at Buckley AFB (then ANGB) in Denver to Woomera in the middle of Aussie, we flew in a Starlifter to get there. One of the more unique memories in my life. It was actually kind of a cool flight. Long live the '141. GO AIR FORCE!!!!!!!!!

Not nearly as bad as flying on a KC-135 from Andrews to Ramstein.

I was a flight engineer out of Norton AFB until 1986 and this acft is one the best in the world, I miss the ol girl and treasure the time I had in MAC 21st blackjacks, I never had a 141 strand me anywhere except in Australia and that didn't upset me much. a couple of extra days at the beach was ok with me.

Was a crew chief on these bad boys 94-98 McGuire - cold in the back!
For some reason the recording is a little "high" It's not that bad onboard. You do need earplugs! And as long as the floor heat works and the plane is not full of cargo? You can sleep where ever you want! I was a flying crewcheif on 141's 4 20 years so watch what U say!

I can't really complain...it was a free flight to Europe and the crew were great. It is a beautiful airplane. I salute you for doing 20 as a crewchief on one. That must have been the experience of a lifetime!
