In November 1961, four American citizens secretly highjacked an experimental rocketship in an attempt to beat the Soviet Union in race to the moon.
As they left the earth's protective atmosphere, their ship was blasted with cosmic rays.
The rocket crashed back down to earth.The four were unijured;however, they found the exposure to the space radiation has given them each a strange new ability.
Reed Richards ,leader,has gained the power to stretch his body as if it were rubber
Sue Storm,assistant and fiancee has developed the ability to become invisible and to create pockets of mental energy
Johnny Storm, younger brother to Sue, can turn his body into human flame and throw fireballs
Benjamin Grimm,College All-American and friend of Reed, has been transformed into an orange-rock-skinned Thing ,endowed with superhuman strength and the ability to withstand pain
The quartet decided to use their powers for good. outfitting themselves in blue and black costumes , Mr fantastic, the Invisible Girl,the human Torch and the Thing
the Fantastic Four have continued to thrill and entertain for five decades....
