Try flipping your pictures hirozentially. This artwork has lots of errors, and it was killing me to watch you finish with with grace and beauty while it was still so messed up. x-x I died a little inside. >>; Anyway. These errors should become apparant if you really look for them (constantly check your drawings for mistakes, espeically during the easy-to-fix sketch stage), but flipping it also helps them show up a lot of the time. Your palette's beautiful, keep up the good work.
Thanks for the critique :)! I seem to have this problem with many of my pictures (sadly), and usually I'm too afraid to see how bad it is by flipping the picture. I've always found it so strange how drawing it one way *seems* symmetrical or correct, but as soon as you flip it, it's like wtf? Thanks again, and I'll try harder to rectify this problem of mine.
Haha, yeah. XD Espeically if you really like the picture so far. Sometimes I have to close my eyes and wince when I flip it. But it really does help, and then the picture you love is a million times better after the edits. The big unnoticed theme for artists is art: not for the faint of heart. *shot* Well, g'luck. <3
Oekaki isn't really all too special. It's like a blanket term for pictures drawn on a common applet (oekaki applet). It's much like saying that a picture is a photoshop one, or a digital one, or a [insert program here] picture. It's just that we can use the term "oekaki" as a stand alone noun.
Translated, "oekaki" means like a doodle or scribble, but many don't use it just for doodling or scribbling. It has ties to anime/manga, but that doesn't necessarily mean oekaki is only for anime/manga.
