  • ok 3 volt dc motorand a good solar panel..What if i get a larger solar panel-a good one-not too bid though and a very good motor?? like 12 volt dc motor or 24 volt dc motor??won't it go much faster..i know it depends from the materials though..

  • uhm theoretically yes but, you have a lot of design work ahead of you not to mention the monetary issues. which is why this scale was a fun project.

  • I built a solar powered car but it only goes barely one hundreth of a mph. What should I do??

  • well pending the output of the panel you could gear it up of course, it also depends on the capablity of the motor and mostly friction. getting the gears to mesh without wearing wierd was a bitch. and finding a decent lubricant/bearing for the body/frame to axles was alittle challenging. larger tires will go faster but it'll take a while to accelerate. if you want more help i'll need more info thanks for watching

  • what type of motor and out put do i have to use?? i'm in malaysia. sloar panel 6 v. how much output do i need for the engine??

  • it was a standard 3volt dc motor. ususally its not about voltage but how much current you can get the solar panel to produce on a great sunny day take the panel out and see what it can do for your motor without any load on it let it runn free and see what itll do.

  • thanks alot! the car goes way faster. you are da man!!!ㅋㅋㅋ

  • well the 1000 watt halogen work lights move it some but not the standard 60 watt

  • i tried it with a light bulb because there is no sunlight lately, does urs work with a bulb because i have to bring mine really really close to bulb for it too work.

  • the panel was about the same but it was a really clear day and we did our best to keep the panel perpindicular to the sun
