  • Horrible? this masterful interpretation has not deserve the poor sound quality of the video and one thing more what is the reason to compare different personalities as Vengerov's or Oistrakh's it just has not sense they're different persons with different ways to perform our favorite music and we can only say wow

  • Your 18 yaers old yes? u forget that that this vid was was recorded before tv digital video and audio technlogy!. Of course if u want perfect video and audio then utube is not a good enough medium.-remember all vids and audio are reduced to fliv file quality. u can't buy this performance on DVD. I uploaded this video so that young violinists can see his violin technique and learn from him. hope u can grasp my view point.

  • Thank you. I understand your view point. In fact I'm in the process of writing a sociological essay on how mucians perform classical master pieces in music and how interpetation changes over time.

  • I can't believe how brilliant Vengerov is. I just recently saw Joshua Bell play this live and came on here to compare other artists to that performance and after seeing Vengerov here, I feel like a complete IDIOT for paying what I paid to see Joshua Bell play this. I am not talking about their interpretations, you can't say one interpretation is better than the other as that is in the eye of the beholder. I am talking pure technical skills and musicality. Vengerov is night and day above Bell!

  • Best violin concerto of all times! Despite who's playing, this a brilliant concerto! I love it on top of any other! Vengerov is a great violinist.

  • orchestra is slooooow...

  • 1:33... so so so serious... hehehe! cute! bravo.

  • Allegro moderato?

  • piano can be out of tune... its just not the players fault...

and intoneation is different if you go to differnt places

in europe the A is 445 and in america its 440 russia is 442 i think...

  • this is phenomenal

  • I guess it is subjective, because otherwise people wouldnt be fighting over it so much! I play in ET all the time, I likes it very muchos ;-D ! So does vengerov by the sounds of it... what a player

  • well how do you want it mighty sir:

pythagorean intonation, just intonation, or equal temperament

Playing "in tune" is completely subjective

  • well it is
