  • what do you do about the little brass colored nubs sticking out of each link?

  • @jetwagon The tracks are painted after thus covering any brass nubs. The smashed nubs actually look much like the smashed hammered bolts heads on real-life tank tracks. The bolts on real tracks become heavily worn due to rubbing rocks and debris while driving.

  • back in the day, the tracks I did were rubber, that had tabs you had to melt toget the two halves of the track to stay together. they were also tight and never looked real.

we used to use a painted cat whisker (humanely cut off our loved tom) as an antanae

  • @Treefrogs2 Cool!, I've done my share of rubber tracks too. The cat whisker is hilarious .

  • Metal treads give you cancer....

  • @GrandPimp20 Tons of house hold items cause cancer. In fact most have never been fully tested.

  • Don't prime them. Use burnishing agent like gun bluing or like Uschi van der rosten. After it just use pigment or pastell and the burnishing looks more convincing than prime and paint I think.

  • @Treefrogs2 hmm..you could have heated and stretch a sprue to make an antenna..

  • @BHAMIG it´s PEWTER!

  • No they do not - handling them all day long EVERY day will probably give you lead poisoning. I doubt you'll be handling raw lead every day! If you are I suggest some surgical gloves!
